Our unique approach to concept development and project management means we can make any idea completely portable, regardless of what industry you work in.

The company conceived by Andrew Apostola and Simon Goodrich in San Fransisco around the time video iPod was launched in 2005. Since then, Portable has expanded to a team of twelve, rapidly creating projects that have broad appeal and change industries. The Portable Film Festival and Portable Shops are two of the company’s lead projects that have received international recognition. Headquarted in Melbourne, Australia Portable establish a New York office in February 2010.

The company’s founders are active in the digital media industry in Australia and abroad. In 2008 Andrew was a recipient of the British Council Award for the Arts and a judge for the Victorian Premiers Design Awards. He is also a resident mentor of the Laboratory of Advance Media Production (LAMP) run by the Australian, Film, Television and Radio School.

Simon was recognised was one of the top 30 entrepreneurs under 30 by Anthill Magazine in 2008. He is also the National President of the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA), the peak industry body. Simon also sits on the board of Design Victoria and MEGA, a national mobile business initiative. Simon is the Australian Ambassador for the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), the coordinators of the Webby Awards, the Oscars for online.

In 2009, Portable was identified as one of the next big things online by Smart Company.
